Established in 2014 to mentor and train Foreign General Practitioners looking to work as GP in the UK. .
Locum GP helps PET (pre-employment training)

Locumdoctor4u offers a Pre-Employment Training (PET) program for foreign medical graduates who are interested in working in the UK primary care system.

To be eligible for the PET program, applicants must:

  • Hold the qualifications necessary for registration as a GP with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Be fluent in English.
  • Be able to demonstrate their ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The PET program includes:

  • Theoretical teaching sessions on topics such as UK healthcare system, clinical skills, and communication skills.
  • Practical sessions in a variety of clinical settings.
  • A four-week period of job shadowing with a GP.

The total length of the PET program is eight weeks.

At the end of the PET program, participants may be offered a contract of employment with Locumdoctor4u or the appropriate references to be registered with the local GP Supplementary List.

The enrolment fee for the full PET course is £3,500.

A certificate of completion will be issued at the end of the course.

The PET program is designed to give foreign medical graduates the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in their first professional experience in the UK primary care system.

The program also provides participants with the opportunity to network with other GPs and healthcare professionals in the UK.
